What Is Arthritis?

Arthritis refers to inflammation of the joints, which can lead to pain, stiffness, swelling and reduced mobility. There are many types of arthritis, including osteoarthritis (often related to wear and tear) and autoimmune forms like rheumatoid arthritis. While arthritis is often thought of as a condition of ageing, it can affect people of all ages and stages of life. It can come in waves, with flare-ups and periods of relief, and may affect one or multiple joints at once.

At MNMC, we take an integrative approach to arthritis, supporting not just the joints, but the entire body systems that contribute to pain, inflammation and healing. Our goal is to reduce discomfort, improve function and support long-term joint health.
