What Is Endometriosis?

Endometriosis is a chronic, inflammatory condition where tissue similar to the lining of the uterus grows in places it shouldn’t — often on the ovaries, fallopian tubes, pelvic lining, or even the bowel and bladder. This tissue responds to hormonal changes in the cycle, just like the uterine lining does, which can cause pain, inflammation, and sometimes scar tissue or adhesions over time.

While endometriosis can impact fertility, digestion, and overall quality of life, early support and a holistic approach can make a significant difference in how you manage your symptoms and long-term wellbeing.

Common Signs & Symptoms

Symptoms of endometriosis can vary greatly, and the severity of symptoms doesn’t always reflect the extent of the condition. Some people have no symptoms, while others may experience:

  • Painful periods (cramps that may feel sharp, deep, or stabbing)
  • Pain during or after sex
  • Pain with bowel movements or urination (especially around menstruation)
  • Heavy or irregular bleeding
  • Bloating or digestive discomfort (“endo belly”)
  • Fatigue, brain fog, or low energy
  • Difficulty falling pregnant

Because these symptoms often overlap with other conditions, endometriosis can go undiagnosed for years. A supportive, informed approach can help bring clarity and relief.
