If a few of these sound familiar, your child's skin may be reflecting something happening on the inside.
Red, itchy patches that settle then flare — often disturbing sleep and mood.
Flare-ups that seem to follow certain foods, or that travel with tummy troubles.
Easily irritated skin, rashes or hives that come and go.
Steroid creams help for a while, but the underlying flares keep returning.
A child's skin often reflects what's happening inside — especially in the gut. The gut microbiome, food sensitivities, nutrient status and the immune system all influence how skin behaves, which is why eczema and skin flares frequently trace back to something deeper than the surface. Steroid creams can calm a flare, but they don't address why it keeps returning. Our naturopaths look for those underlying drivers and support your child's skin from the inside out — part of our wider children's health care, and always alongside your GP or dermatologist.
The first appointment is an unhurried conversation about your child’s skin history, diet, digestion, sleep and triggers. There’s no rush and no judgement. From there your practitioner builds a gentle, practical plan the whole family can follow.
Where it will genuinely add to the picture, your practitioner may suggest food-intolerance (IgG/IgE) or gut-microbiome testing to identify triggers and drivers. Testing is always optional, kits can be posted home, and we explain every result in plain language.

Our practitioners support the underlying drivers of eczema — gut health, food triggers, nutrient status and the immune system — with gentle, evidence-informed care, alongside your GP or dermatologist. We don’t replace medical treatment; we work with it.
For some children, food sensitivities contribute to skin flares — but not always; it’s very individual. Our practitioners look at the whole picture and may suggest gentle testing to identify triggers rather than guessing.

Where helpful, we may recommend food-intolerance (IgG/IgE) or gut-microbiome testing. Testing is always optional, only suggested when it will add to the picture, and kits can be posted home.
