If a few of these sound familiar, your child's immune system may be asking for a little support.
One cold rolls straight into the next, all through the year — not just winter.
Ear infections, tonsillitis or coughs that keep coming back or linger.
Takes longer than other kids to bounce back, and often runs low on energy.
Digestive upset that seems to travel with the constant illness — the gut-immune link.
Children get sick — that's normal, and part of building a healthy immune system. But a child who is constantly unwell, slow to recover, or on repeat courses of antibiotics may have an immune system that's overwhelmed or under-supported. Because a large share of the immune system lives in and around the gut, recurrent infection is often tied to gut health, nutrient status (like iron, zinc and vitamin D), sleep and stress. Our naturopaths look for those underlying drivers and support your child's natural resilience gently — part of our wider children's health care, and always alongside your GP or paediatrician.
The first appointment is an unhurried conversation about your child’s health history, how often they’re getting sick, their diet, sleep, gut and energy. From there your practitioner builds a simple, practical plan the whole family can follow — with small steps that fit real life.
Where it will genuinely add to the picture, your practitioner may suggest gentle testing — such as checking nutrient status (iron, zinc, vitamin D) or a gut-microbiome test — to understand why the immune system is struggling. Testing is always optional, kits can be posted home, and we explain every result in plain language.

Some illness is normal, especially in daycare and early school years. But frequent, back-to-back or lingering infections — or being slow to recover — can be a sign the immune system needs support. It’s always worth a closer look alongside your GP.
Our practitioners support the underlying picture — gut health, nutrient status, sleep and resilience — that can influence how often a child gets sick. We work alongside your GP or paediatrician, never instead of them, and refer back for medical care when it’s needed.
A large share of the immune system sits in and around the gut, so gut health strongly influences immune resilience. Supporting the gut microbiome is often part of helping a child who is constantly unwell.
Where helpful, we may check nutrient status (such as iron, zinc and vitamin D) or recommend a gut-microbiome test. Testing is always optional and kits can be posted home.
