Angela’s Super Green Smoothie

This recipe will help you lose weight, cleanse, clarify your skin, bowels, hormones and nourish your body.

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon of whole Flaxseeds or Omega Fibre (this helps to regulate hormones)
  • 1-2 tsp of Chia seeds (omega 3)
  • 1 scoop of Thermophase detox powder*(gastrointestinal and liver detox rice based protein powder)
  • 3-4 leaves of organic kale or 1-2 cups of baby spinach
  • 1/2 cup of organic blueberries frozen or fresh
  • ¼ cup of additional fruit or vegetables e.g kiwi, cucumber, celery, etc.
  • Add cold filtered water to desired consistency usually 2-3 cups

Variation:

swap some or all of the water with coconut water, almond milk or rice milk!

*Thermophase a medical protein powder that not only detoxifies but also contains robust amounts of nutrients and 20g of rice protein per serve. If you don’t have access to this product, a plant-based protein powder is a good substitute!

Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 220.
  2. Prep vegetables – wash and dry carrots and potatoes. Cut both into rounds (disks), about 1cm thick.
  3. In a bowl, combine chopped potatoes, carrots, and chickpeas. Add in olive oil and spices, and mix well until everything is evenly coated.
  4. On a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, bake vegetables + chickpeas for 45-50 minutes. When they’re done cooking, remove from oven and let cool.
  5. While vegetables are cooking, make pesto – combine all ingredients into a food processor and process on high until a slightly smooth pesto is formed.
  6. In a bowl, mix thinly sliced lacinato kale and pesto until kale is evenly covered. Then, add in roasted vegetables + chickpeas and brown rice. Mix well until everything is evenly combined.
  7. Serve in bowls and top with sesame seeds.
